Finding Flowers

Georgianna Lane’s ranunculus printher site is fantastic!

As I mentioned in previous posts, I took an online floral arranging class this spring.  Florists are plentiful in Boston, but finding affordable stems to put into my own arrangements wasn’t all that easy.  While I dream of one day going to the Boston Flower Exchange, below are a few locations where I’ve had some success finding flowers.

  • Vintage Garden, 59 Dartmouth Street (857) 265-3689
My favorite! It’s quaint and the ladies are wonderful!

  • Brattle Square Florist, 31 Brattle Street in Cambridge (617) 876-9839
My second favorite! A great selection of flowers with very knowledgeable staff.

  • Fresco Flowers, Outside Back Bay Train Station (surprising, I know!) (617) 228-0500

  • Luis Barry, Prudential Center (617) 437-1058
It’s a little pricey, but they have a decent selection and keep good hours.

If you’re more in the mood to just scope out some pretty flowers, head to the lower half of the Boston Commons or the Kelleher Rose Gardens over in the Fens (on Park Drive).  And keeping in the spirit of flowers, here are some monkey orchids to take you into the weekend!
